Leasing a Horse with ATU
Schedule a “New Client Assessment” with us so we can meet you, see you ride, and best match you with a horse.
We will not lease to a person we have never seen ride.
Please see our “Lessons” page for our lesson tiers. Riders must do Option 2 or 3 in our lesson structure for 30 days before requesting a standard lease. This allows us to identify a rider’s level, capabilities and pairing them with the right horse.
Lease packages consist combination of lessons and rides. All leases are ON-SITE. We do not offer off-site leases.
Pricing: Lease lessons = $65 per (1 per week required minimum)
Lease rides = $45 per (all packages with lease rides require a membership to the Tacoma Unit)
No Leases are offered with a no-lesson option. We want to make sure both horse and rider continue to mesh well and that the riding and training are helpful and productive to both parties, regardless of their end goals.
No high-impact training is allowed outside of a lesson setting (jumping, barrels, etc) without the permission of a trainer. Independent rides are primarily intended for relationship building and flatwork.
Leasers are given priority for events and offsite trips as well as priority on horse choice.
